Last night, our family decided to shake things up and have dinner at Open Road. The plan was simple: enjoy a hearty meal together, then wind down with some premium Pull Up DC treats once the kids went to bed (our little secret indulgence!). From start to finish, the evening was perfect--a blend of amazing food, warm service, and a cozy family vibe. The moment we walked in, we felt right at home. Open Road has a laid-back charm with its rustic decor and vibrant energy. The kids were instantly hooked when our server brought over complimentary popcorn, a simple but fun touch that kept their tiny hands busy while we perused the menu. Open Road's menu truly has something for everyone. My husband opted for the Wagyu meatball sliders, and wow--those were little bites of heaven. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, he wasn't interested in sharing even a single bite. I went for the steak frites, which were cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and juicy, while the fries had that perfect crispness. The kids devoured the BBQ chicken nachos--so cheesy and packed with toppings that they didn't even realize they were eating something with veggies in it (parenting win!). Even our youngest, the pickiest eater in the family, was thrilled with her mac and cheese. She cleaned her plate, which almost never happens. Our server, Natalie, was a gem. She was so attentive, even with the kids' constant requests, and recommended a cider for me that paired beautifully with my meal--light, crisp, and just what I needed after a long day. Natalie even joked with the kids, making them feel like little VIPs. What sets Open Road apart is its vibe. It's casual enough for a family dinner but lively and stylish, making it feel like a night out. With plenty of TVs showing sports, my husband and son were entertained between bites, while the rest of us enjoyed the cozy yet trendy ambiance. After dinner, we stopped by Pull Up DC to grab some treats to enjoy at home. Their premium strains have become our go-to for unwinding after a busy day, and pairing them with an evening like this just made everything feel complete. Open Road's hearty, satisfying meal set the tone for the night, and Pull Up DC gave us the relaxing finish we needed. Open Road is a fantastic spot to bring the family for dinner--delicious food, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere. And if you're looking for a way to cap off the evening, Pull Up DC's premium cannabis offerings will elevate your relaxation. Together, these two create the ultimate night out for foodies and cannabis enthusiasts alike. Five stars all the way--we'll definitely be back!

Food - 4.5 service - 4.5 ambiance - 4 Overall 4.25. I go here pretty often for a quick bite or drinks with friends. It's similar to a great American restaurant. The food is always pretty solid. I really like the brunch menu (salmon avocado toast and huevos ranchero). I got the potato chowder today, I feel it could have been heated more but was yummy. I usually get the Cobb salad or the Cobb salad bites. I also like the mussels, Brussels sprouts, and the chicken tenders. I like they give free popcorn for the table, even though sometimes it tastes stale. The inside is pretty rustic, and has a biker vibe, very casual. It has a nice outdoor, covered patio area. Parking is pretty good during the day but gets very busy at night.

On November 26, 2024, after my wife received good news at the nearby Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, she asked that we eat our celebratory lunch at this restaurant. So we did. Our server Jaquelin G was fine but not the friendliest or most attentive. As I write below we liked our food but we have many dining options. The quality of the service makes a difference and Jaquelin's was underwhelming. A different server, a young woman, working other tables was friendlier. She engaged more with us than Jaquelin did. My wife liked her Loaded Grilled Cheese sandwich though she would have liked it to be cheesier. My half rack of ribs were delicious. And the Peanut Butter pie was fantastic.

I've had take out from Open Road several times and they make some of the best burgers in the DMV area. This was our first time to the restaurant. It's a nice place next to their sister restaurant Trio Grill which is more upscale and have excellent food (review later). Both places have outdoor seating that is enclosed for comfort. We came to Open Road for brunch. Service was great and the food was great. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Tacos and Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad. All dishes were great: the chicken on the salad was especially good. Don't know why this place wasn't in our regular rotations but have now added it. Worth a trip for the great service and food here (especially their burgers).

This is a pretty good brunch spot. I was surprised by how much I liked the food. The interior is very casual, and it is pretty loud. I came on a Sunday around 12-1 PM ish, and they were playing several football games on different TVs. This is probably a good place to come to watch football and grab a bite to eat. They started us off with popcorn, which I thought was a nice starter. I ended up splitting the Huevos Rancheros and the Challah French Toast with someone else. They were both pretty good, especially the Huevos Rancheros. It was very flavorful, and was a good amount of food. The French toast was good as well, and I liked the citrus cream on it. The macerated berries also went really well with it. I would say the food is maybe slightly overpriced, but it isn't too bad. The service was pretty quick considering we came with a larger party, but there wasn't anything notable or special about the service other than its speed. It also took a little bit of time for them to seat us, even though we had a reservation and the place wasn't packed. Overall, a solid place to get brunch. I would probably come back again for their brunch, or to try out their dinner menu.

Pretty decent spot. I've been to this location multiple times and they haven't disappointed me. They have a good selection of alcoholic beverages, I recommend trying their ciders. I ordered the steak frites and it was delish. My only small concern was that my steak was not cooked to my liking, it was a little overcooked. Service was prompt and they have plenty of screens to watch sports games.

This was my second time at Open Road. The first time I visited was the week prior where I got to try out their Tuesday $1 Oyster deal. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to come again and try out some of the options they had on their happy hour menu. FOOD (5/5): I had ordered: - A dozen oysters - Cobb Lettuce Wraps - Buffalo Garlic Wings - Spicy Apricot Wings - 16oz Bold Rock IPA Cider Every table receives a platter of popcorn as an appetizer/snack, you can ask for the popcorn to be refilled. The cider I ordered was served cold in a chilled glass which I greatly appreciated. It only costed $5 for 16oz since I ordered during happy hour. Oysters - I ordered a dozen oysters as it was Tuesday and they cost $1 each. The oysters were very good and decently sized. They were served with a side of lemon, mignonette, cocktail sauce, and horseradish. Cobb Lettuce Wraps - The cobb lettuce wraps were $2 off during happy hour. They were really good drenched in buttermilk dressing. Eating it alone would make for a rather hearty meal. Buffalo Garlic Wings & Spicy Apricot Wings - Wings are $2 off during happy hour. The wings were absolutely delicious. The moment they were served you could smell how amazing they were. The chicken was juicy and the outside was well-seasoned. The Buffalo Garlic wings were on the savory side and were very fragrant as you can see the bits of garlic and herbs on the chicken. The rub used on the Buffalo Garlic wings seemed drier than the Spicy Apricot wings as the latter had a saucy and sticky outer coating. I loved both wings but preferred the Spicy Apricot wings as it was spicy and sweet. The wings are served with a side of either smoked blue cheese dressing or ranch. I opted to try both and they were both really delicious. The ranch was on the sweeter side and the smoked blue cheese dressing is probably the best blue cheese dressing I've ever had. SERVICE (3/5): Draft beers are $5 during happy hour and we wanted to order a few but were subsequently told that happy hour deals only applied if we sat outside on the patio or at the bar. We had a confusing couple minutes of back and forth where we didn't receive guidance on where we were allowed to sit and which tables qualify for happy hour. The wait staff that let us know we had to move to get the happy hour deal left us hanging and didn't bother leading us to a new available table. We eventually seated ourselves closer to the bar and the staff member who waited our new table was amazing. She was very attentive and quick to grab our orders. She also checked in on us often. If it weren't for the incident at the very beginning of our dining experience, I would've given Open Road a 5/5 for service. AMBIANCE(4/5): The interior of Open Road is big, open, and barn-like with a bar located on the right side as you enter. There were live performers performing on the outside patio, but their performance couldn't be heard from indoors.
